Zeta M. Ashens, 92 of Belvidere, passed away Wednesday evening, November 25, 2015 at Alpine Fireside Health Center with her loving family by her side. Zeta was born May 8, 1923 in Cassville, MO, daughter of Jess and Ima (White) Preddy. She married Oscar T. Ashen on February 21, 1947 in Springfield, MO. Zeta was a bookkeeper for Fineline, Inc, for many years before retiring. She was a faithful member of Belvidere Assembly of God. Zeta enjoyed baking, canning, crocheting, and sewing.

Zeta is loved and will be missed by her children, James (Margie) Ashens of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas (Nicole) Ashens of Rockford, IL; grandson, Christopher Ashens; step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Morgan, and James Anderson; brother, Charles Preddy of St. Joseph, MO; sister-in-law, Frances Preddy of Cassville, MO; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar, and brothers, Raymond, Lilburn, and Joseph Preddy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Alpine Fireside Health Center for all of their loving kindness and care that they provided to Zeta and her family.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008 with Rev. Dale Anderson officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M., until the time of service. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Belvidere Assembly of God in Zeta's name.
