William P. McIntyre, 78, of Poplar Grove, died Friday, October 12, 2012 in his home with his family by his side. He was born on February 6, 1934 in Poplar Grove; the son of Charles and Beulah (Ball) McIntyre. He graduated from North Boone High School in 1951. William married Helen Smith in Beloit, Wisconsin on March 2, 1953. He was a Dairy Farmer for thirty-one years before working for FS. He retired from FS after working there ten years. William was a member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church; past member Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Administrative Board; past member of Poplar Grove Elementary School Board. He enjoyed bowling and supporting the White Sox. However, his family was most important to him and he loved to spend time with them. William is survived by his wife, Helen, of Poplar Grove; three sons, Gary (Pam) McIntyre, Belvidere; Dave (Dawn) McIntyre, Mike (Jane Haas) McIntyre, both of Poplar Grove; eight grandchildren, Jim (Amy) McIntyre, Poplar Grove; Susan (Ryan) Schmalen, Caledonia; Kurt (Jessica) McIntyre, Leah (Dustin) McGinnis, Jill (Joshua) Franseen all of Clinton, Wisconsin; Andrea McIntyre, Belvidere; Brittany McIntyre, Janesville, Wisconsin and Ryan (April DiGuiseppi) Camonier of Rockford; seven great-grandchildren, Megan Jenkins, Poplar Grove; Tucker McIntyre; Porter and Paige McGinnis; Megyn Franseen, all of Clinton; Tyler Schmalen, of Caledonia; Joshua Jenkins, Janesville, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by parents, two sisters, Beth Uthoff and Darlene Worley; two grandchildren, Tonya and Joshua McIntyre. The family wishes to thank the staff of O.S.F. Hospice and the nurses at O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center for their care.
