Harvard, ILWilliam M. Smith, 59, of Harvard, IL died unexpectedly, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Harvard, IL. William was born December 4, 1952 in Harvard, IL the son of Jesse and Evelyn (Blazer) Smith, Sr. William married Cheryl Russell on February 5, 1972 in Capron Lutheran Church. He graduated from Rock Valley College and was an Electronic Engineer for 36 years. Bill was an avid Chicago Bears Fan and a veteran of the US Army serving from 1972 until 1975 being stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.He is loved and will be missed by his children, Brandon (Kathy) Smith and Michele (Shane) Fitch both of Belvidere; his former wife, Cheryl Russell-Smith of Belvidere; brothers and sisters, Donna (Wil) Spencer, Judith (Donald) Wilson, Kenneth (Carol) Smith, Robert (Jennifer) Smith; grandchildren, Jared Keating, Alec Smith, Sadie Fitch, Jordan Fitch, Bailey Smith, Jacob Fitch, Lexi Smith. Bill is predeceased by his parents; beloved son, Dustin age 27, in December 2011; brothers Jesse Smith, Jr. and Raymond Smith.
