William Lyga, 83, of Belvidere, IL, died peacefully February 28, 2022, in Rockford, IL. He was born September 28, 1938, in Arcadia, WI, son to George and Marion (Hagenbarth) Lyga. He married his sweetheart, Shelia Ross April 11, 1964 in Independence, WI and was employed as a fork lifter at Cornell Forge for 27 years and WR Meadows in Hampshire. He loved gardening, coffee time, meals at Uncle John's restaurant. He had a passion for checking gas prices at different gas stations around town.

He will be loved and dearly missed by his wife, Sheila; son, Scott Lyga; daughter, Robin Cosner ; son, Chris Lyga; brother, George Lyga; sisters, Doris Anderson and Maryann Bender; grandchildren, Cody, Kyle, and Scott Lyga, Jr.; and 3 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by twin daughters, Dawn and Denise Lyga; sister, Rosie; brother, Donald; and niece, Susan Ann Bender.
