William D. Cummings, 87, of Belvidere, IL died Sunday afternoon, September 19, 2010 in SwedishAmerican Hospital, Rockford, IL. William was born September 29, 1922 in Rockford, IL the son of Ralph A. and Isabelle (McDonald) Cummings. William was a life long resident of Caledonia. He was a member of the Caledonia Congregational Church, former Caledonia Highway Commissioner, former Assistant Chief of the North Boone District 3 Fire Department; as well as a former Republican Precinct Committeeman and member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge. William and his brother, Wilbur, worked for 27 years at the Belford Theater. William's family would like to acknowledge the nurses and staff of SwedishAmerican's 7th floor and Dr. Eric Hess for their tender care.Survivors include many cousins and numerous dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents and twin brother, Wilbur.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in William's name.
