William R. Costa, 50, of Belvidere, Illinois, went to be
with his Lord and Savior on February 17, 2019. He was born on December 9, 1968
in Chicago, Illinois to Santo and Bonnie (Stanley) Costa. William married the
love of his life, Beth (Corbett), on May 15, 1999 in Loves Park, Illinois. He
attended the University of Illinois where he received his Bachelor of Science
in Ceramic Engineering. He worked for Tetra Pak in Vernon Hills, Illinois for
many years.
William attended St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford, Illinois.
He was very active in the programs for the Boy Scouts of America, including
Troop and Crew #181. William enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking,
cooking, and scouting.
William is loved and missed dearly by his wife and his
parents; his children Julia and Jacob; his brother John Costa; sister-in-law
Jennifer (Emil) Wisdom; grandmother-in-law Ann Newman; his nieces and nephews
Samantha Wolff, Danny (Amber) Wolff, Gabbie Wolff, Tia Alvarez, Helena Alvarez,
Sydney and Lauren Costa; and multiple cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his infant
sister.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Heartland
Hospice and their many special friends who have walked this journey with them.
A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford, IL, 61109. A "celebration of life" luncheon will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at BSA Program Center, 7194 Vandiver Road, Rockford, IL, 61112.The family encourages Scouts and Scouters to wear their uniforms to William's services.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the family that will be split equally between UW-Madison Cancer Research Center and Blackhawk Area Council, BSA.
