William "Bill" GorhamHusband, Dad, Grandpa and Best FriendWilliam E. "Bill" Gorham, 71 of Boone County, Illinois, died March 22, 2006 after a 18 month courageous battle with cancer. Born November 21, 1934 in Belvidere, Illinois. The son of Francis Adrian and Evelyn (Barney) Gorham. Graduated from Belvidere High School in 1952. Served in the U.S. Marines Corps for 3 years 1952-1955. Bill retired from the U.S. Postal Service in December 1989, having been a carrier, clerk and supervisor with 35 years of service. Bill's family meant the world to him. He spent his time enjoying and loving to fish, hunt and trap. Much time was spent at Leech Lake, Walker, Minnesota with his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife and best friend of 47 years, Beverly (Welch) Gorham; his children, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Gorham and Penny (Alan) Wallace; grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, Leah, and Megan Gorham and Forrest and Autumn Wallace all from the surrounding area; two sister-in-laws, Janet Gorham, Loves Park and Geri Gorham, Belvidere; He is predeceased by his Father and Mother, brothers, Elmer, Francis "Tuffy", Stephen "Doc" and Jay.
