"Bill" Finedore
January 31, 1953 – January 12, 2022
William "Bill" Francis Finedore III, 68, of Belvidere, IL, loved and known as "Pa" to many, lost a courageous battle for this life on January 12, 2022, in Rockford. Bill was born January 31, 1953, in Evanston to William Jr. and Grace (Brush) Finedore. He was a Glenbrook North High School graduate. Bill married the love of his life Janet (Chellman), on July 10, 1977, in Palatine, IL. Bill loved his life! He cherished every moment spent with the family and friends he and his beautiful bride created and nurtured during their 44 years of marriage. He proudly served in the US Navy as a ship diver. Bill worked for over 40 years in the commercial machine and nuclear energy industry for CFM/VR-TESCO. He was a member of the VFW and a former member of the Men's Auxiliary. Bill loved summers in Rhinelander, WI, creating memories with his family and his Chellman family. His memory is forever ingrained in the Island Cottage. Bill also loved golfing, watching football, shooting, fishing, swimming, and diving. Most importantly, he cherished spending time and cooking for his beloved family and creating lasting memories for each of his children and grandchildren.
Bill will be forever missed by his wife and best friend, Janet. Pa will forever be adored by his children, Le (Anthony) Antoine, William C. Finedore, Chach V. (Kim) Finedore, and Ashley (Matthew) Terrill; grandchildren, Matthew, Cole, Riley, Tyler, April, Liam, Evan, Howard, George, Aiden, Kayla, Sam, Maren and Eric B. Bill's siblings; beloved younger brother Jeff (Kim) Finedore and their children, Joe and Stevie, along with his lovely nieces Tara and Cori. Additional siblings Tom, James and Nancy Finedore.
He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved father-in-law William Chellman
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 5, 2022 at the Rockton American Legion at noon.
