William J. "Bill" Braun, 79, of Poplar Grove, IL, passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, October 17, 2017 in his home. He was born May 6, 1938 in Chicago, IL, son of Joseph and Ella (Voight) Braun. Bill married the love of his life, Marie Kolb on November 26, 1960. He was employed as a truck driver for Centrella Foods for many years. Bill love fishing, and traveling. Most of all, he thoroughly enjoyed his job, getting to drive and socializing with many people.

Bill is loved an missed by his wife of 57 years, Marie; children, Timothy Braun, Theresa (Jim) Busbey, Kimberly (Peter) Guttierrez, and Joseph Braun; daughter-in-law, Toni Braun; grandchildren, Chris, Melanie, Melissa, Emily, Michaela and Taylor; his sisters, Shirley, Joan, and Marlene; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Fred.

A funeral service will take place at 11;00 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL, 61008. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until 10:45 a.m., prior to the service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
