Wetzel J. "Wes" McCormick, age 77 a Belvidere resident the past 11 years and formerly of Union, IL died peacefully, early Monday morning, November 28, 2005 in Northwood's Care Centre after a12 year battle with Alzheimer's. Wes was born May 17, 1928 in Secoll, W.VA the son of Ray and Edna (Adkins) McCormick. He married Iona Perkins on June 28, 1947 in Madison, W.VA. Wes devoted his working career to health care. He retired at age 58 from Illinois Masonic Medical Center after 23 years of service as a hospital administrator. Wes was active in the Palatine Masonic Lodge obtaining the rank of 33 degree mason as well as being a member of the Shrine Temple in Chicago.Survivors include his wife, Iona; sons, Jerry (Diane) and Richard (Marilyn); brother, Bill McCormick; sisters, Juanita Miller, Zelpha Ulbrich; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Wes is predeceased by his parents and sister, Doris Ball.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Wes' memory.
