Wayne J. Wright, 88, of Belvidere, died at 3:05 A.M. on Monday, October 6, 2008, in his home following a one year illness. Wayne was born August 2, 1920, in Belvidere, the son of Wayne E. and Sadie McCartney Wright. On May 5, 1940, he married Florence L. Vangeisen in Wright City, MO; she died February 19, 2001. He farmed several years prior to operating Harvard Hardware for 30 years. Wayne was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in North Africa and in the European Theater. A 1938 graduate of Belvidere High School, he was a member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge, a lifetime member of Belvidere Post #1461 of the VFW, and attended the Garden Prairie United Church of Christ.Survivors include three sons, Mitchell of Belvidere, Michael of Garden Prairie, and Marc of Belvidere; two grandsons, Brandt Wright and Ryan Wright, both of Lincoln Park, NJ; and a sister, Roberta Daniels of Garden Prairie. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters (Guinivere Anderson and Barbara Reiman).
