Rockford, ILWarren L. (Bud) Baker, 89, of Rockford, IL and formerly of Scottsbluff, NE and Goshen, IN died peacefully Tuesday morning, November 12, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital after a short illness. Warren was born September 30, 1924 in Goshen, IN the son of Frank and Florence (Rensberger) Baker. Warren married Maxine R. Burkett on August 11, 1946 in Goshen, IN. He served our country in the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater and discharged in 1946; He was recalled in 1950 to serve during the Korean War in Korea. Warren started his carrier in the US Post Office in October 1946, he retired after 33 years of service. Warren enjoyed a good game of Golf and reading a good book.Warren is loved and will be missed by his brother Charles of Elkhart, IN; children, Linda Williams of Scottsbluff, NE, James (Linda) Baker of Rockford, IL; grandchildren, Lori (Rodney) Altena, Daniel (Gabe)Williams, Juli (Moises) Williams, Jason (Valentina) Williams , Brandon (Amy) Baker, Michael (Cori) Baker , Stephen (Julia) Baker, Christopher Stohl; fifteen Great-grandchildren, Jacie, Dani, Devon, Viviana, Sebastian, Cameron , Mason, Molly, Anthony, Madeline, Luke, Hannah Grace, Lorelai, Charlotte, and his special one, Kateri. Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews. Warren is preceded in death by his parents, wife Maxine, a sister and three brothers.
