Walter B. Peters, Jr. of Belvidere formerly of Woodstock, Ill. died Thursday, November 22, 2007 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born May 20, 1935 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Walter B. and Gertrude (Rosentreter) Peters, Sr. Walt married Jean Reuter in Elgin, Ill. on February 8, 1992. His major career was involved in Food Service. However, he was a Custodial Engineer for the Cary Grove School District. He was a veteran of the Army serving from 1958 to 1960. Walt was instrumental in creating the Union of Office Workers and Custodians for the Cary Grove School District. He was a former member of the Chicago T-Bird Car Club. In addition to T-Birds he enjoyed riding Indian motorcycles.He is survived by his wife, Jean, Belvidere; a son, Scott (Regina) Peters, Cortland, Ill.; a daughter, Tracy Scott and granddaughter, Taylor Scott, both of California; a brother, Warren Peters, Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents.
