Walter C. "Ole" Knop, 85, of Belvidere, IL died peacefully, Monday morning, July 7, 2014 in Northwood's Care Center after a lingering illness.  Walter was born September 28, 1928 in Belvidere, IL the son of Henry and Martha (Schmeling) Knop.  He married Mildred A. "Millie" Bremer on June 9, 1955 in Belvidere.  "Ole" was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army.  "Ole" worked for in the construction field for over 25 years with Bob Hallen.

"Ole" is survived by his children, Douglas (Christine) Knop of Algonquin, IL; Deborah 9Roger) Ollmann of Kinston, IL; grandchildren, Erick, Amanda and Shawn.  Walter is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Millie, and brother Lyle.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014 in Highland Garden of Memories, with Rev.
