Virginia "Ginny" Hampton, age 66 of Belvidere, Illinois died Tuesday morning, June 21, 2005 in St. Joseph Hospital, Chicago, Illinois after a short illness. Ginny was born November 9, 1938 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin the daughter of Chester A. and Marion L. (Bean) Roush. Ginny married Noel Hampton in Woodstock, Illinois on July 19, 1974. She was an administrative secretary for the Belvidere Police Department retiring in 1993 after 20 years of service. Ginny was a member of the 20th Street Missionary Baptist Church of Rockford. She was a past president of her quilting club, volunteered as a pink lady for St. Joseph Hospital in Belvidere, a former member of Belvidere Junior Women's Club and a former Den Mother. Ginny enjoyed bowling, sewing and embroidery work and especially making porcelain dolls. Survivors include her husband, Noel of Belvidere; children, Kathy (Kathy Grossen) Blackmer of Loves Park, Keith (Nancy) Clark of Poplar Grove, Norman (Misty) Hampton of Charlotte, NC and Johnnie Hampton of Belvidere; grandchildren, Courtney, Jeremy, Jarrid, Cody, Lukas, Whitney, Reece, Lyndsay, Logan, Gabe; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ginny is predeceased by her parents, sister, Linda Motley and brothers, Vernon and John "Wayne" Roush.
A memorial in Ginny's name will be established for cancer research and can be given in care of the family.
