Virginia "Ginger" D. Pape, 78, of Rockford, IL passed away suddenly Saturday, February 14, 2015 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. She was born on August 29, 1936 in Bell, California to Ralph and Marion Walker. Ginger enjoyed traveling, was an avid bowler in her younger days and loved watching her granddaughter play college volleyball. She will be most remembered for her gift of gab. She never met a stranger and would always put others before herself. Ginger loved being a waitress and spending time with her many customers.

Ginger is loved and will be missed by her children: daughter, Karen Nelson and son, Rodney (Debbie) Pape; granddaughters, Abbey (Tanden) Johnson and Annie Nelson; great granddaughter, Leighton Johnson. She is predeceased by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00PM on Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL. Burial service private. In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to the Keen Age Center of Boone County in Belvidere or Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary of Rockford.
