Virginia I. Bietau, 73, of Rockford, died Sunday, November 29, 2009 in Rockford Memorial Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born August 6, 1936 in Belva, Oklahoma, the daughter of John William and Lelia Irene (Washburn) Bush. She was a graduate of North Boone High School, class of 1954. Virginia married John C. Bietau in Dubuque, Iowa on January 29, 1959. She was employed as an Estimator in the wholesale plumbing industry for more than 30 years. Virginia was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting as well as golf and fishing. She was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. She also followed the Kansas State University athletic teams where her son coaches. Virginia is survived by her son, Stephen A. (Connie) Bietau, Manhattan, Kansas; four grandchildren, Bradley Bietau, Andrew Bietau, Kayla Peck and Justin (Ashley) Peck; two sisters, Patricia Walter, Rockford, Illinois and Kay (Irv) Case, Turtle Lake, Wisconsin; two nieces, Deborah (Mark) Mason, and Brenda Walter; three nephews, Douglas Case, Michael (Tina) Walter, Brian (Donna) Walter, and many great nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother-in-law, Don Walter.
