Belvidere, ILViola M. "Susie" Spotz, 93, of Belvidere, Il died peacefully, Tuesday November 29, 2011 in Homebridge Care Center, Belvidere, IL. Viola was born June 28, 1918 in Roscoe, Illinois the daughter of Walter W. and Clara H. (Tripp) Suhr. She graduated from Belvidere High School in 1936. Viola married Donald G. Spotz on August 5, 1944 in Belvidere. During WWII she worked for National Sewing Machine where she made bearings for aircraft. Viola was an excellent homemaker and was deeply devoted to her family.She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, her grandfather was a founding member of the church. She was a former election judge in Flora and Bonus Townships, a life long member of the VFW Auxiliary and a founding member of the Kittle Club card group.Survivors include her children, Linda Spaanem of Rockford, Charles (Cinda) Spotz of Belvidere and Jack Spotz of Belvidere; grandchildren, Ronda Turner, Shelly Arnett, Chad Spotz, Allison Gleeson, Tracey Spotz and Kristi Funderberg; ten great-grandchildren; brother Clarence (Roberta) Suhr of Belvidere and numerous nieces and nephews.Predeceased by parents, husband Donald on August 8, 1999; grandson Troy Spaanem and brother, Donald Suhr.
