Vickie Shelabarger, 72, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026. She was born on June 2, 1953, to Nancy Eleanor Goodrich and Wesley Ray Buffington.

Vickie was known for being stubborn in the best way, sweet, sassy, humble, and endlessly kind. She would help anyone in any way she could, never hesitating to give her time, love, or support. Her heart was as big as her personality.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures, cooking for those she loved, thrifting for hidden treasures, fishing, and hunting. Above all else, Vickie loved her family. Being a mom, grandma, and great grandma was her greatest pride and joy.

Vickie shared a special and cherished bond with her sisters. Their annual sisters Christmas celebrations and birthday lunches were traditions she treasured deeply. Those memories will live on in the hearts of her family.

She is survived by her loving son, Daniel (Ashley) Lawrence; her grandchildren, Jacob (Anniece) Smith, Brittney (Alex) Crawford, Emma Ogden, Damon Ogden, Michael Lawrence, and Gavin Lawrence; and her great-grandchildren, Gunner Crawford, Phoenix Crawford, Xander Crawford, Nakira Smith, and Jacob Smith Jr.

She is also survived by her sisters, Sharon, Donna, and Elizabeth (Miguel); her brother, Chuck (Yvonne); sister-in-law, Randi Herkey; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Kimberly; and her brothers, Keith and Kevin.

A memorial visitation for Vickie will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10am until noon, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL.

Vickie's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
