Vester A. Hays, 80, of Belvidere, passed away, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Rockford. Born December 27, 1936 in Bell Center, WI. Vester worked a number of various jobs throughout his life. He was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship in Belvidere. Vester loved NASCAR, especially #48, Jimmie Johnson. He adored his dogs, Bashful and Missy.

Vester is loved and missed by his lifelong partner, Doris Hays; daughter, Christine (Sean) Hess; grandchildren, Mindy (Jonathan) Erickson, Sean Hess, Jr., and Damon Hess; great-granddaughters, Allison and Mackenzie; siblings, Clyde Hayes, Eldon Kelley, and Joyce Giddings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and several siblings.
