Belvidere, IllinoisVernon Dewayne Hartman, 95, of Belvidere, IL and formerly of Elgin, IL died Sunday evening, May 23, 2010 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center after a lingering illness. Vernon was born December 31, 1914 in Hinckley, IL the son of Lewis A. and Cassie (Coon) Hartman. He graduated from Genoa high School. On November 21, 1940, Vernon married Loretta A. Harz in Hanover Township. He owned Hartman Bee-Line in Elgin for 15 years, and then sold to his sons. His company is now in the third generation, run by his grandson Curt. Vernon enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting and being outdoors.Survivors include his children, Gerald L. (Janice) of Gilbert, AZ, Carl F. of Hazlehurst, WI, Roger D. (Valerie) of Phoenix, AZ and Janet S. (John) Deickmann of Gold Canyon, AZ; seven grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
