Velma A. Blachford, 94, of Capron, IL passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 in Rockford, IL. Velma was born January 22, 1928 in Belleville, IL, the daughter of Edwin Eisenhauer and Melva (Frees) Rohr. Velma was a graduate of South Beloit High School and married the love of her life, William Blachford on November 7, 1948 in Clinton, WI. Velma worked for the Beloit Daily News, Bowne's Body shop, but most importantly she worked alongside her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed crocheting, crosswords, dancing and cardinals. She will be missed by all.

She was predeceased by her parents, her sister and her husband.

Velma is loved and missed by her children, Alan W. Blachford of Capron, IL; Alane (Rocky) Peña of Loves Park, IL; nephew, Donald (Judy) Rohr of Beloit, WI; cousin, Kathleen Larson of Beloit, WI; special friend, Arlene V. Keller of Belleville, IL as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

The visitation for Velma, will be held from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL 61008. The funeral for Velma will be held at 10:00 a.m. following the visitation.Burial in Blaine Cemetery.
