Obituary

Todd Alan Laird, 46, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away on November 18, 2025 after a courageous and inspiring battle with ALS.

Born on August 5, 1979, in Chicago, he was the beloved son of Rosemary (Viscione) and Bruce Laird.

On May 17, 2012, Todd married the love of his life, Ali (Friend) at the Rock of Gibraltar. Which they always felt a connection to as a testament to their marriage-solid and strong. Together they built a beautiful life, sharing 13 years of marriage and raising two cherished children. Todd was a devoted husband and a proud, loving father whose family meant everything to him.

He was known for his unwavering work ethic and dedication, spending 15 years at I-Car as a data analyst. His commitment to excellence and his dependable nature made him an invaluable part of the team, and his contributions left a lasting impact on those who worked alongside him

Todd was an avid baseball enthusiast who found joy in visiting stadiums and traveling across the country with his best friends who he grew up with and remained close to, even through his illness. He also had an expansive love of music and delighted in sharing his favorite songs with the people he cared about. Above all, Todd treasured the moments spent with his family and friends. He believed: the purpose of life is love and laughter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alesandra Laird; their children, Ethan and Chloe Laird; parents, Bruce and Rosemary Laird; father-in-law, Dennis Friend; brother-in-law, Gregory (JoLynne) Friend; sister-in-law, Christa (Nicholas Ibarra) Friend, and nephews, Eli and Nate Friend, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
