Thomas H. Jenkins, 78, of Garden Prairie, Illinois, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born on December 18, 1932 in Butler, Tennessee; the son of Charles Edgar and Iva Lee (Milsap) Jenkins. Tom was married to Margaret Cornell Morris in Greenvill, Tennessee on March 25, 1955. She preceded him in death. He later married Bonnie L Kasten in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on June 12, 1995. He was employed as a Farm Shop Mechanic for Green Giant for many years retiring in 1994. Tom was a member of the V.F.W. John Hugo Kaiser Belvidere Post 1461. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, restoring tractors and farming. Every winter Tom became a snowbird and went to Florida where he enjoyed going on cruises. Tom is survived by his wife, Bonnie; four sons, Tom Jenkins, Machesney Park, Illinois; Ken (Karen) Jenkins, Roscoe, Illinois; Billy Joe (Theresa) Jenkins, Belvidere, Illinois; and Gary (Janet) Jenkins, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; two step-children, Jeffrey (Lori) Stearns, Davis, Illinois and Mickey (Kevin) Weidemann, Fayette, Iowa; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Terry Lynn Jenkins and a brother, Charles Jenkins.
