Thomas G. Howland, 52, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Saint Anthony Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born January 13, 1965 in Belvidere, IL, son of Harold and Helen (Wilson) Howland. Tom graduated from Belvidere High School and went on to attend Southern Illinois University and graduated from DeVry Institute. He was employed as an IT specialist. Tom attended Open Bible Church in Belvidere. He loved fishing, playing ball with his children, and grilling. Tom played football in high school and had the nickname, Rocky. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox Fan.

Tom is loved and missed by his children, Kelly (Fiance- Leo Martinez) Howland and Nick Howland; mother, Helen Howland; grandchildren, Brea and Leah; siblings, Sherry (Richard) Canciamille, and James (Donna) Howland; daughter-in-law, Sondra Paul-Howland; nephews, Tony Canciamille, Andrew Canciamille, Jeremiah Howland, and Aaron Howland; . He was preceded in death by his father, Harold, and brothers, Jerry Howland and Michael Howland.

Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Pastor Dan Pope officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m., prior to service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Open Bible Church.
