Thomas Alan Grotemeyer, 50, formerly of Olympia Fields, IL, died suddenly at 6:02 PM Thursday, August 28, 2008, in his Capron, IL, home. He was born in Chicago Heights, IL, on July 25, 1958, the son of Richard and Carol Ekstrom Grotemeyer. He married Madelyn Paige Mayberry in Lincoln, IL, on May 17, 1986; she died July 16, 2004. Tom was a carpenter in the construction trades and had attended the School of Art Institute in Chicago. He enjoyed reading, working puzzles, and listening to good music. Survivors include his son, Nathaniel of Capron; mother Carol Grotemeyer, Naperville, IL; sister Kay (Joel) Truemper, Naperville, IL; brother Richard R. (Kathy) Grotemeyer, Orland Park, IL; and sister-in-law Ann (Robert) Herring, Vienna, VA.
