Obituary

Thomas G. Fuchs, 82, of Belvidere, died Monday, November 27, 2006 in his home following a sudden illness. He was born August 7, 1924 in Woodstock, Illinois, the son of Albert and Magdeline (George) Fuchs. Tom married Jean Richardson in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Woodstock, Ill. on May 7, 1955. He was employed as a Manager by Hick's Gas for 37 years retiring in 1987. He then worked for the Boone County Council on Aging for 5-1/2 years driving the Keen Age Bus and later as a volunteer Med Car driver. Tom was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army 10th Mountain Division ETO 1944 to 1946. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Belvidere, a former member of the Woodstock Knights of Columbus; the Woodstock Lion's Club; Belvidere Elk's Club and the Belvidere Moose Club Lodge 295. He is survived by his wife, Jean, Belvidere; Ill.; two sons, Kevin (Diane) Fuchs, Greenville, Ind.; Donald (Jennifer) Fuchs, Rockford, Ill.; and daughter, Cynthia (Dan) Weber, Palatine, Ill.; Seven grandchildren, Maggie, Lisa and Hannah Fuchs; Stacy, Julie, Tommy and Haley Weber; a sister, Mary Beth Fuchs, McHenry, Ill.; a brother, Robert (Eileen) Fuchs, Woodstock, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Parents and sister, Barbara Kopsell, Woodstock, Ill.
