Thomas P. DeSchepper

Tom DeSchepper passed away on April 14th, 2020. Tom was born in 1960 and was age 60 at his death. Tom was a thoughtful, considerate, and respectful person. Tom had a gentle soul (until someone needing protecting, then he was a force to be reckoned with). He enjoyed cooking, watching movies, traveling, skiing with his sons and cheering together at the Atlanta Braves games, golfing, swimming, and being with his family, and we can all attest to Tom's clever humor and wit. Tom had a great life! In the pictures we all have, we can see that in his huge smiles! Tom worked his lifelong professional career in Atlanta Georgia, and returned to his hometown of Rockford Illinois in 2018. Tom and Debbie Fichera DeSchepper, previously married, raised and shared their love of their two sons, Coleman and Christian, in Atlanta. Coleman and Christian were Tom's greatest joy and he so loved each of them. Tom was so proud of the fine young men that they have become. Coleman is now in college, and Christian is graduating from high school and on his way to college. Last October, Tom and Christian viewed Purdue University together in West Lafayette Indiana while also visiting Aunt Bet and cousins who welcomed them with open arms. Tom treasured that experience with Christian. Tom earned his University of Illinois Bachelor's Degree from the College of Engineering. Tom's life long career position was as an Enterprise Software Sales Executive closing many software deals with Fortune 500 accounts. His career had him traveling the U.S., and to countries such as England and Germany. Tom could work a phone, computer, and airline reservations like magic. Tom's other family members are his sister Dorian DeSchepper (Gabe Javurek), brother Roger DeSchepper (Beth DeSchepper and Beth's son Drew and daughter Sarah), sister Debra Gay (Perry Gay), sister Lindsey DeSchepper, brother Derek DeSchepper, nephew Kyle Gay (Erin Gay and great nephew Carter Gay), nephew Ryan Gay, Roger's daughter/Tom's niece Grace DeSchepper, Aunt Lee Gray, Aunt Rose Maxwell and Uncle Jim Maxwell, and all of our cousins. Tom loved his close friends Chris and Liz Moore. Tom is predeceased by his mother Jean DeSchepper, and his father Ronald DeSchepper.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Services are private.
