Thomas Lynn Cooper, 75, of Belvidere, Illinois, passed away on July 26, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1951, in West Virginia.

Tom was a devoted husband, family man, and loyal friend whose quick wit and sense of humor brought smiles to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He shared nearly 30 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary (August) Cooper. Tom was a dedicated and dependable employee at Centrella Foods, where he worked for 42 years. His strong work ethic, consistency, and commitment earned the respect of his coworkers throughout his career.

An avid outdoorsman, Tom found his greatest joy in hunting and spending time in nature. He was an excellent marksman who treasured the camaraderie of hunting trips and camping with close friends at Mississippi Palisades. His generosity was evident in many ways, including donating venison to help feed those in need.

Tom was also a talented handyman who took pride in remodeling properties and fixing just about anything around the house. He enjoyed working with his hands and was always willing to lend his skills to help others.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Mary Cooper; his granddaughter, Destiny Cooper-Petrie; his stepchildren, Christine, Casey, and Charles; his step-grandchildren, Alan, Heather, and Maycin; and numerous dear friends whom he loved like family.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved daughter, Tammy; his son, Randy; his granddaughter, Rachel; and his parents.

Tom's legacy of hard work, generosity, humor, and love for the outdoors will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered with deep affection and greatly missed.

Tom’s memorial visitation will be Friday, August 7th at 10am at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Memorial service to follow at 11am and inurnment will be at Belvidere Cemetery.
