Loves Park, IllinoisThelma Mae Smith, 85, of Loves Park, Illinois, died peacefully Friday, October 26, 2007 at Maple Crest Care Center with her loving family at her side. She was born in Orchardville, Illinois on December 15, 1921 to the late Rolla C. and Verna A. (Henson) Duke. She was married in 1940 to George W. Smith; he died in 2002. Thelma is survived by her daughters, Janet Lamphere of Alsip, Illinois and Karen (Garry) Crull of Caledonia, Illinois; son, James (Sharon) Smith of Princeton, Illinois; grandchildren, Dawn Lamphere of O'Fallon, Missouri, Jill Lamphere of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Daniel (Sandra) Smith of Princeton, Illinois, Steven Smith of Murrieta, California, Kari Crull McCue of Loves Park, Jeff (Amy) Crull of McFarland, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, Gabrielle and Christian Smith of Princeton, Illinois, Samantha and Tyler Smith of Murrieta, California, Nina and Gwenyth Crull of McFarland, Wisconsin; sisters, Elsie Hoey of Caledonia, Eva Blachford of Belvidere, Neva Bonsall of Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Rolla Smith, grandson in-law Shannon McCue and a close family friend, John Johandes. Thelma and Wendell raised their family in Capron, Illinois and moved to Loves Park after retiring from Capron Grade School and Dean Foods.
