Thelma June Nelson, 81, of Westlake Village, CA, formerly of Belvidere, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Boone Co., IL, on June 9, 1925, the daughter of William H. and Edith A. Bailey Nelson. June married Everett "Ozzie" Nelson on November 24, 1946. She lived over 50 years in Belvidere until 2003, moving to California to be nearer to her son and granddaughters. A longtime beautician, June also worked at the Belvidere Daily Republican Newspaper, The Belvidere Bank, and the First United Methodist Church where she was a member. She was a Master Bridge Player and loved playing pool and bingo.Surviving are her husband, Ozzie, son Dr. Russell (Dawn) Nelson, granddaughters Kylie, Ali, Taylor, and Hayley Nelson, all of Westlake Village, CA; sisters Gladys Snyder and Dorothy Fairgrieves, both of Belvidere. Preceding her in death were her daughter, Nancy, her brother Hubert Nelson, and her sister Evelyn Tate.
