Terry John Chilson, 77, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Necedah, Wisconsin, Terry was the proud son of George and Elsie (Stevens) Chilson. He graduated from Belvidere High School in 1966 and went on to build a life rooted in hard work, family values, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.

Terry spent over 31 years as a dedicated car hauler with Cassens. When he was not hauling, he was working on cars, this is where he passed down his mechanical skills and passion for classic muscle cars to his sons and grandsons. Known for his integrity and strong work ethic, Terry also served his hometown as a city Alderman, always striving to give back to the community he loved.

Terry was a loyal member of the VFW and a long-time member of the Bellstone Club. An avid sportsman, he found his greatest joy in the woods or on the water—hunting, fishing, and enjoying the quiet strength of nature. He loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers and the Brewers, when he wasn't cheering them on he was an avid softball player who never missed a chance to hit the field.

Above all, Terry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His love for his family ran deep, and he took immense pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow.  Terry's legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he taught, and the traditions he passed down. He will be deeply missed.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Christy Chilson, grandchildren, Ashley Chilson, Allison (Aaron) Derdzinski, Tyler Chilson, Tanner (Hayley) Chilson, Aubrie Chilson, Jesse Chilson, Mercedes Chilson, Natasha Bates, Austin Chilson; siblings, Alice (Edward) Przybylski, Doug Chilson, Phillip (Donna) Chilson, Edna (Tony) Tilley; daughter-in-law, Tammy Chilson; loving partner, Chris Martin, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he loved dearly.

He is predeceased by his late wives, Gloria Gesell and Braida Norment; sons, Tom and Tony Chilson; daughter, Kimberly Hanson; granddaughter, Destiny Hanson; brothers Ron and Dave Chilson; sisters, Doris Martin and Jenny Pearson, as well as his parents George and Elise Chilson.

Terry's memorial visitation will be Saturday, June 14th between the hours of 10-12pm at Anderson Funeral Home. Located at 218 W. Hurlbut Ave. Belvidere, IL 61008. Memorial service to follow at 12pm.
