Teresa G. Gallardo, 93, of Belvidere, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Maple Crest Care Centre surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11, 1924 in Sand Benito, TX, the daughter of Gregorio and Maria (Cerda) Garcia. She married Edwardo T. Gallardo on February 7, 1943 in San Benito, TX. Teresa was the manager of laundry services at Community General Hospital in Sterling for 26 years. She was a faithful member of Saint James Catholic Church. Teresa enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and crocheting.

Teresa is loved and missed by her children, Edward Gallardo, Jr., Victor Gallardo, Maria  (Tim) Towns, Diana  (Manuel) Perez; grandchildren, Antonio (Jen) Garcia, Elizabeth (Curtis) Garcia, Manuel (Heather Lemke) Perez II, Jennifer (Marco) Ibarra, Michelle (Jaime) Hey, Melissa (Jim) Gallentine, and Viktoria (Tim) Koons ; great-grandchildren, Selena Garcia, Olivia Garcia, Sophia Garcia, Matheo Ibarra, Elias Ibarra, Vivianne Ibarra, Sebastian Perez, Lucas Lemke, T.J. Koons, Kayden Koons, and Chella Heys; brother, Gregorio Garcia; half-siblings, Celia Bennett, Angie Trevino, Juanita Garcia Sandoval, Maria G. Sandoval, Apolonio Garcia, Jesus Garcia, Maria Isabel Aguirre, and Gregorio Garcia, Jr., daughter-in-law, Angelina Howell, special niece, Virginia (Jesus) Rascon, special nephew, John Casas, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Edwardo and siblings, Virginia G. Garza, Connie Escobedo, Olidia Vargas, Estefana Willmore, Mary Lou Bennett, and Daniel Garcia

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Saint James Catholic Church, 402 Church Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Father Brian Geary officiating. A visitation will be held 8:30-9:15 a.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008.
