Tammy S. Meyers, 46, of Belvidere, died at 11:23 P.M. Thursday, October 23, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous six-month battle with cancer. She was born February 6, 1962, in Rockwood, TN, the daughter of Robert G. and Margaret H. Wyatt Wilson. Tammy was a clerk in the Boone County Treasurer's Office for nine years and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1983 to 1996. A 1980 graduate of Belvidere High School, she taught swimming and served as lifeguard at the YMCA. As a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Tammy was active in both confirmation classes and Logos. On May 21, 1992, she married Dennis A. Meyers in Rockton, IL.Survivors include her husband, Dennis; sons Steven Smithson with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, VA, and Erik Meyers at home; daughter Kristina Smithson of Rockford; her father Robert G. (Kay) Wilson, Belvidere; her mother Margaret Moulton of Kingston, TN; sister Vicki L. (Dave) Rand, Belvidere; brothers Robert G. (Corri) Wilson, Jr. of Loves Park, and Mark A. (Amy) Wilson, of Ten Mile, TN; step-brothers Michael (Danice) Loveridge and Jeff (Carol) Loveridge, all of Poplar Grove, and grandchildren Zackary and Madelyne. She was predeceased by her step-father, Kyle Moulton.
