Sylvia Schroeder, 82, of Madison, WI, died peacefully June 22, 2018 in Madison. She was born February 23, 1936 in Belvidere, IL to Arthur L. Johannes and Amy Ruth Hendrickson. She married her sweetheart, the late LeRoy Schroeder, October 6, 1956 in Belvidere.

Sylvia was a graduate of Belvidere High School and was employed with Boone County for over forty years. She became Boone County Clerk on January 1, 1996 and served until July 14, 2005.

Sylvia was an avid, voracious reader. She loved to quilt. She was a member of Zonta and was especially fond of the Bears and the Bulls!

She is dearly loved and will be missed by her daughters, Linda (Malcom) Maremont and Diane (Timothy) Brogdon; and grandchildren, Andy (Natalie) Krecek and Allison Krecek.

Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Arthur and Norman; and an infant brother and sister, William and Christine.

A funeral service will be held at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL 61008 on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Reverend Scott Stolberg will officiate.
