Sue R. Yurs, 78, of Cherry Valley, went to be with the Lord on December 18th, 2022.  She was born September 13th, 1944, in Freeport, Illinois.  She graduated Harlem High School class of 1962.  She married Roger A. Yurs, March 18th, 1966.  She followed him to Germany while he was serving in the army.  They returned to Belvidere upon his honorable discharge.  She was dedicated to her family, community and volunteered with the Girl Scouts, Washington School PTA along with other community events.  She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church and helped with the AWANA program, Bible school, SnowCamp and various other church activities.  She worked many years at Pillsbury/Green Giant and Belvidere Cold Storage in clerical positions.  She enjoyed ceramics, crafting and spending time with her family.

She was a proud grandma, attending many of her grandchildren's events and accomplishments.  She enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, family and friends creating "fond" memories.  She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children.  Tammy (Mark) King of Belvidere, Illinois, Todd Yurs of Trilla, Illinois and long time family friend Jeanine Steffenhagen of Winnebago, Illinois. Her grandchildren  Tim (Evie Williams-fiancee') Yurs of Macomb, Illinois,  Kaleb (Megan) Yurs of Neoga, Illinois, Justin Yurs of Washington D.C. Jordan King of Belvidere, Illinois and Lauren King of Belvidere, Illinois.  Her "non-biological" grandchildren Nikki (Chris Leker) Steffenhagen of Kenosha, Wis. and Kelsi (Mitch) Riley of Darlington, Wis.  As well as nieces and nephews whom she didn't see often but loved.  She is predeceased by her husband (Roger A. Yurs), her parents (Harry & Catherine Mills), twin brother Earl Mills and brother Art Mills.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 27th from 5-7 pm at Anderson's Funeral Home located at 218 W. Hurlburt, Belvidere, Illinois.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00 am at Evangelical Covenant Church located at 220 W. Harrison Street, Belvidere, Illinois with luncheon to follow.  There will be a private family burial at the Belvidere Cemetery.
