Stuart K. Cranston, age 91, of Belvidere, Illinois died Thursday evening, March 24, 2005 in Maple Crest Nursing Home after a lingering illness. Stuart was born October 18, 1913 in Beloit, Wisconsin the son of Clyde and Hazel (Tuttle) Cranston. Stuart married Ruth Nettleton in Belvidere on June 18, 1940. He was an electrical worker for Local 364 for thirty-five years retiring in 1984. During World War II, Stuart served our country in the Army Air Corp attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the VFW John Hugo Kaiser Post 1461 and the American Legion, Boone Post #77.Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Belvidere; daughters, Carol Anne (Raymond) Benton of Emmett, ID, Judith Mae (David) Procter of Patterson, MO, and Jean Susanne (Donald) Pollock of Cookeville, TN; eleven Grandchildren; numerous Great Grandchildren.Stuart is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Audrey Burns.
