Steven R. "Duroc" Sorrenson, 59, Belvidere, Illinois, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 19, 1951 in Morrison, Illinois, the son of Richard and Betty Sorrenson. Steve married Sandra M. Erickson in Belvidere on May 20, 1981. He was employed as a Postman for the U. S. Postal Service 35 years, retiring in July, 2009. He was a member of the VFW Auxiliary; Eagle's Club and Postal Union. He enjoyed sports and camping. Steve was a Cubs and Bears Fan. He also loved his Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer. He attended Auderbine College in Canton, Ohio. Steve is survived by his wife, Sandy; three children, Andrea (Scott) Ziegler, Belvidere; Jeramy (Jessica) Sorrenson, Cherry Valley, Illinois; and Kayla (Marlon Malli) Sorrenson, Belvidere; four grandchildren, Courtney, Alyssa, Sarah and Chase; his brother, Dave Sorrenson, Chillicothe, Illinois and sister, Patricia Sorrenson, Galion, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandchild, Dillon.

A memorial fund will be established in his memory at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in his name.
