Steven Anthony Csiki, born July 19th, 1958. Passed away September 22nd, 2019, resident of Belvidere. Loving son to (Antal) Goldie (Aranka). Loving husband of Ilona. Brother to Annamaria (John Molnar) and Michael Joseph. Uncle to John Anthony (Julie) and Cynthia Ann (Ron Kongsangobsakul) great Uncle to Treyven Kain and Kendalyn Jayde.
Steve, born in 1958, was the first child, American-born son to his Hungarian immigrant parents who escaped communist Hungary in 1956 and came to Chicago after a brief stay in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey by way of Vienna, Austria.
Steve served four years in The United States Navy as a radarman on the U.S.S. Elmer Montgomery, a fast frigate and toured the Mediterranean, Red Sea and Black Sea during 1976 until 1980 during the Carter years or Cold War era with Russia.
After coming home from his service and honorable discharge, Steve found employment at Chicago Cutting Die Company working with his father, Tony (Antal). After his employment there, Steve found employment via T & H Lemont in Lincolnwood, IL, later Countryside, IL first working in the shop then achieving the IT computer specialist finally for over 30 years. Steve enjoyed membership in the Hungarian (Magyar) Club in Chicago.
Steve married his sweetheart, Ilona on December 26th, 1987 which he many times stated was the happiest day of his life.
His interests were short wave radio, computers and photography. He loved taking his wife Ilona to area conservatories and state parks.
Steve will be dearly missed by his wife, Ilona; his mother, Goldie (Aranka); brother, Michael Csiki; sister, Anna Maria Molnar; nephew John (Julie) ; niece, Cynthia (Ron Kongsangobsakul); great nephew, Treyven; and great niece, Kendalyn.
He is preceded in death by his father, and a brother-in-law,
John.
A memorial service will
be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Anderson Funeral and Cremation
Services, 218 West Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, IL. 61008.To light a candle
