Steven J. Bardell, 65, of Poplar Grove, IL, died January 4, 2023, in Rockford, IL. He was born May 24, 1957, in Freeport, IL, son to father, Dale Bardell and mother, JoAnn (Diemer) Bardell.  Steven graduated from Belvidere High School and married Trixie Bardell in Poplar Grove.  He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for local union 150 and attended Willow Creek Presbyterian Church in Argyle. Steven enjoyed hunting, shooting guns with his grandchildren, snowmobiling and camping. He attended his grandchildren's sporting events and loved spending time with family and friends.

Steven is loved and will be missed by his mother, JoAnn; daughter, Shannon (Carlos) Delgado; son, Richard (Amie) Bardell; siblings, Teresa Perkins, Stephanie Waterman, Keith Bardell and Christina Williams; grandchildren, Ethan and Jacob Delgado and Cadince; multiple nieces and nephews; and extended family and special friends. He is preceded in death by Trixie Bardell; father, Dale; stepson, Joshua Withers; and sister, Brenda Randall.

A visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023, at Willow Creek Presbyterian Church of Argyle, 7300 Belvidere Rd., Caledonia, IL 61011. Pastor Tanya Muzzarelli and Pastor Lauren Patrus- Betzel will officiate. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories. In his honor, memorials to the family to establish a memorial at a later date.
