Steve Allen Betts, 53, of Poplar Grove, died in his home on Friday, December 23, 2011. Born August 13, 1958 in Germany, son of Nelson Betts and Bette (Pruden) Coit. Worked as a supervisor for United Airlines for 20 years, was a humanitarian, believing all people and animals deserve equal rights. Steve was much loved and will be missed by many.Survivors include his mother Bette Coit of Poplar Grove, sisters P.J. (Bruce) Sarni of Poplar Grove, Laura (Nils) Soderlund of Hampshire, brothers John Betts of Poplar Grove, Robert (Julie) Arnell of WI, Mark (Angelina) Betts of Kankakee, Nelson Betts III of Utah, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, grandparents, an aunt and 2 uncles.

The family requests no flowers and would like donations to be made in Steve's name to further AIDS research.
