Stephen D. Southard, 68, of Poplar Grove, Illinois died peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2014 in his home. He was born on July 19, 1946 in Vincennes, Indiana; the son of Charles and Delores (Barnett) Southard. Steve worked as a repairman for the Chrysler Corporation. He enjoyed listening to Bluegrass Music as well as an accomplished musician with stringed instruments. Steve is loving father to Alisa (Paul) Fortson, of Davis, Illinois; and Laura Devries, of Wisconsin; loving grandfather to Alexandria Dobyns and Blaze Fortson; loving brother to Charlene "Kay" Combs and Carol Joanne Bateman. A Memorial Service will be held on September 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at First Wesleyan Church in Bicknell, Indiana with Brother, Terry Fletcher, officiating. Noon meal and visitation from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Brenda Hail Family Center across the street from the church. Cremation has taken place.
