Stella Lillie Bowser, 87 of Belvidere, died peacefully, Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Stella was born on September 19, 1927 in Blackwater, VA. Daughter of John Henry and Bessie (Gilreath) Livesey. She graduated from high school in 1945. Stella married James W. Bowser on April 21, 1950. She retired from Saint Joseph's Hospital as a cook. She loved cooking for everybody and was the best cook, and there was always room for another plate. She enjoyed sitting on her porch visiting. Stella was a member of Belvidere Church of Christ.
She is loved and will be missed by her two sons, Mike (Bonnie) Bowser of Moline, IL; Gary (Cathy) Bowser of Poplar Grove, IL; daughter, Diana (Danny) Staton; five grandchildren, Christy Minor, Jennifer Bowser, Josh Bowser, Shadwick Bowser, Kiana Staton; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Johnny Walters; numerous nieces and nephews who called her Aunt Tootsie. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Bowser; sister, Sylvia Walters; son-in-law, Tommy Upton; grandson, Ryan Bowser; granddaughter, Kera Lee Upton; numerous brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws. A very special thank you to all of her caregivers. "I love you a bushel, and a peck, and a hug around the neck."
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 29, 2014 in Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services at Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Chapel, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave, Belvidere, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Burial in Highland Garden of Memories.
