Stanley D. Winchester Sr., age 82 of Rockford, and formerly of Lazy Palms Texas, died Tuesday morning January 23, 2007 in Alden Alma Nelson. Stanley was born December 28, 1924 the son of George and Sara Olive (Phelps) Winchester. Stanley Graduated Belvidere High School in 1942. After high school he joined the army and served our country during World War II. He later married the love of his life Margaret Lee in Elgin on December 5, 1947. Stanley spent 15 years working for Daimler Chrysler Corporation as a tool maker before retiring in 1980. Stanley was an avid euchre player, and also loved to throw horseshoes. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Stanley is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Winchester, loving children; Stan (Judy) Winchester Jr., Timothy (Debra) Winchester, Linda Winchester, and cherished grandchildren; Christopher (Heather) Winchester, Pam (Glen) Boone,and Danny Boose; adoring great grandchildren; Tyler, Alyssa, and Nikki Winchester, and Joey, Michael, and Shawn Boone, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Stanley's name to the family.
