Sigurd Lee Rognstad, 63 of Belvidere, IL went home to be with Jesus, Thursday evening August 24, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford after a lingering illness.  Sigurd was born July 7, 1954 in Chicago, IL the son of Bruce and Phyllis Rognstad. He earned is B.A in Education graduating from Concordia Chicago.  Sigurd married the love of his life, Tracy, on September 22, 1990 in Freeport, IL He worked for Little City Foundation in Palatine, IL, writing programs for people with disabilities, a career that lasted over  32 years.  Sigurd made his spiritual home at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  As a member of the Bel-Stone club, He enjoyed fishing; as well as camping, cooking, playing cribbage and listening to bluegrass music; all the while spending time with family and friends.

Sigurd is loved and will be missed by his wife, Tracy; mother, Phyllis; children, Kyle and Hannah; siblings, Lorraine Rognstad, Jill (Keith) Davenport, Glen (Sara) Rognstad, Gail (Matt) Mendians, and Vicki Boaz; numerous nieces and nephews.  Sigurd is preceded in death by his father, Bruce.  The family wishes to give a special acknowledgment to Dr. Neal Kellenberger and the staff of Swedish American Hospital for the care given to Sigurd.

Memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 Belvidere Rd, Belvidere, IL with Memorial Services held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday August 29, 2017 at the church.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorial contributions can be given in care of Sigurd's family.  Arrangements by Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W.
