Obituary

Shirley Ann Fredin, 74, of Roscoe, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in PA Peterson surrounded by her family after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. Born July 5, 1938 in Kankakee; daughter of Frank and Jennie (Arends) Baker. Married George Fredin on July 30, 1982 in Rockford. Worked for Warner Lambert for 25 years. Member of Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. The most important things to Shirley were her family and her church. She volunteered at the Poplar Grove UMC potato tent at Edward's Apple Orchard. Survivors include her husband George, daughters Kelly (Doug) Berry, Teri (Kent) Kniep, step-daughters Elaine (Steve) Olson, Paula (Rodney) Keehn, Trina (Jay) Durstock, grandchildren Eric and Scott Berry, Nicole, Krystal, Jenna, and Kyle Kniep, Mathew and Steven Olson, Daniel and Michael Forrest, Bill and Mary Durstock, great-grandson Blake Berry, sister-in-law Linda Jacobsen, and 2 nieces. Predeceased by her parents and brother Robert Jacobsen.

Memorials may be given to the church or to the OSF St. Anthony Center for Cancer Care in Shirley's name.
