Shirley A. Ashburn, 82, of Poplar Grove IL, passed away surrounded by loving family Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Shirley was born December 30, 1935 in England the daughter of George and Anne Gamble. She married the love of her life Willard "Wayne" Ashburn on December 30, 1954. Shirley was passionate about all things crafts, whether painting, knitting or crocheting. Also, Shirley loved the opportunity to educate all those around her and loved working with children. She was a member of TBPA and made her spiritual home at Willow Creek Presbyterian in Caledonia, IL.

She is loved and will be missed by her husband, Wayne; children Sheree (Jerry) Carlson, Jennifer (Jay) Evans; sister Joyce Pollack, 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday March 17, 2018 at Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, 7300 Belvidere Rd, Caledonia, IL 61011 with Rev. Judith Hardy officiating. After service there will be a memorial luncheon. Memorial may be given to the church in Shirley's honor. Cremation rites have been accorded.
