Sherry Ann Greenhow, 83 of Cherry Valley, IL passed away peacefully, October 15, 2021, in Swedish American Hospital after a lingering illness. Sherry was born December 14, 1937, in Rockford, IL the daughter of Harvey and Margaret (Seiler) Peterson. She married Donald L. Greenhow on April 19, 1958, in Belvidere, IL. She made her spiritual home at First United Methodist Church in Belvidere.

Sherry had many hobbies; she enjoyed cooking and baking, and last Christmas, She and her daughter baked eleven different types of cookies and had so much fun. But what Sherry loved the most was her love for God and for her family.

Sherry is loved and will be missed by her husband, Don; sons, Kevin (Michelle) Greenhow of Altoona, WI, Gary (Gwen) Greenhow of Belvidere, IL; daughter, Julia (Dan) Englund of Cherry Valley, IL; brother, Neal Peterson of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren, Jeremy (Marta) Greenhow, Brandon (Charity) Greenhow, Dustin (Bethany) Greenhow, Brock (Brianne) Greenhow, Caleigh (Devin) Fox.; step grandchildren, Michael (Kelsey) Young, Gloria (Josh) Kok, Jenna (Danny) Durez, Matthew (Jessica) Englund; great-grandchildren, Zephyr, Aro, Scarlette, Axel, Nova, Maverick, Isla, Oakley, and Knox; step great-grandchildren, Parker and Luke; sisters in-law, Gloria Mowers, Darlene Fry, Diana Priest Greenhow; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Marlene Hess and Jan Stukenberg.  Sherry is preceded in death by her parents and twin brother, Jerry Peterson.

Sherry's funeral service with livestreaming, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Anderson Funeral and Cremation Services, 218 W. Hurlbut Avenue, Belvidere, IL 61008 with Rev. Jim Bell, pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Sherry's burial will be private for the family at Arlington Memorial Park Rockford. Memorials can be given in care of her family.
