Obituary

Sherry Ann Berry, 80, of Belvidere, IL, passed away peacefully January 20, 2023, in Rockford, IL, surrounded by family and love. She was born February 3, 1942, in Rapid City, SD, daughter to Alan and Dealda (Madill) Cole. Being the eldest of her siblings, she spent a great deal of time caring for them. Though she spent most of her time growing up in Rapid City, Sherry lived in several states, from Arizona, to Nevada, to New Jersey where she became a lifelong Steelers fan. She graduated high school, started her family, and eventually moved to Belvidere. There she worked at Chrysler as an assembler and retired after 30 years. She married Ramond Berry, August 2, 1984 in Belvidere. They remained married until his passing in 2020. Sherry was a member of the entertainment committee at Chrysler. She loved to bowl and was always on one or two leagues at a time. She loved to read. She loved to travel. Favorites included Cancun, Hawaii, cruises, and boat trips with friends. Sherry was always active in yoga and Zumba classes. She was an avid Jeopardy watcher/player—the champion of the family. Family dinners every Sunday at her house as well as family vacations kept the family strongly connected. Like the sun, her children and their children revolved around her because of her love.

Sherry is adored and will be infinitely missed by her children, Randy Dahlenburg, Clara Dahlenburg, Cheryl Carey and Dawn (Chad) Molitor; step son, Nathaniel Berry (Melissa); brother, Eddy (Ava) Cole; sister, Kathleen "Kitty" Raiche; grandchildren, Anthony Dahlenburg, Jacob (Jacqueline) Peters, Amanda (Wil) Hooper, Justin Salazar, Zander Reeves, Brendan and Carrie Ann Berry; great-grandchildren, Lauryn Kelly, Arya Dahlenburg and Talyn Dahlenburg; and one great-great grandbaby on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ramond; and siblings, James and Dennis Cole.
