Shelly Lynn Walling, 55, of Belvidere, IL, passed away on February 1, 2024. She was born on March 24, 1968. The daughter of Sharon (Paul) and Eugene Meyer. Shelly was a deeply devoted wife, daughter, mother, and friend to many.

She worked for many years in the dental field, starting as a dental assistant and moved up to dental office management. Shelly was a dedicated member of St. James Catholic Church, and had strong faith.

On September 12, 1992 she married the love of her life, James Walling. Together they shared 3 sons and 31 years of marriage. They loved to travel to sunny locations to relax on the beach and head to the lake in Wisconsin for water sports fun.

Shelly was a talented cook and loved to embellish old family recipes and make it her own. She enjoyed going shopping, traveling, and above all quality time with her family. Shelly would always support her sons with their athletics, and host a home away from home for their friends.

She was a devoted daughter, and her mother Sharon was her best friend. Shelly will be forever remembered for her kind and generous heart, and her dedication to her family.

She is survived by her husband, James, their children, Cullin, Mason, and Caden Walling, her parents, Sharon and Eugene Meyer, their pet dogs, Cooper and Jax, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends whom she loved dearly.

She is welcomed into heaven by her brother and sister, Mark and Kimberly Meyer.

In accordance with Shelly's wishes private family services have been accorded. Burial at Highland Garden of Memories.
